Dan and Sharon Corbett met in an Ohio summer youth camp in 1961 where they were called by God to be missionaries. Though young, their hearts were already very tender and sensitive to God’s Voice. Sharon was raised as a fifth generation Pentecostal. Dan was called at the age of ten to pray daily for the nations of Asia. Living on a dairy farm in Ohio, he never imagined God would eventually take him to those nations of Asia that he had prayed for as a child. Dan enrolled in Ohio State University but, the Viet Nam war cut short his teaching plans and he became a Vietnamese linguist in the Army Security Agency. Dan and Sharon were then married and moved to Japan to serve as volunteer missionaries, while Dan finished his tour of duty. During that time they spent almost every spare moment studying Bible courses to be prepared to answer His call after the military service was finished. They were assigned to Korea to serve first as missionaries, then later as nation overseer of Korea. They returned to the states ministering at local, district, and state levels. The mission call continued to ring deep within them until one day, they answered that call to return to Japan, the place God originally called them to minister. In September 1979, they left the comforts of the USA and packed up their children: Nathanael (10), Jonathan (7), and Stephanie (5) and moved to Fukuoka, Japan. Since 1979, Dan and Sharon worked in Japan, teaching at the Fukuoka International School, and engaging in church planting. In 1985 Dan was sent to Korea to take over administration of the work in Korea along with Japan. In 1990 he was appointed the Missions Representative of Asia, then later General Presbyter to Asia/Oceania. They have lived in Japan for the past 29 years, but have been sent to many other nations of Asia to minister and handle administrative duties. They are now settled back in Japan actively pursuing their part in reaching Japan with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Japan Prayer Network was established in Oct 2006 and is now reaching into over 70 nations and territories. The Last Days Woman web site has been operating since May 2007 and goes out to over 50 nations including the Middle East. Visit their related web sites, Japan Prayer Network and Last Days Woman.
